There are two types of small electromagnetic clutches: fixed coil type and rotating coil type. The former electromagnetic coil is fixed on the compressor shell and does not rotate, and the latter electromagnetic coil is connected with the tape reel to rotate.

(1) Fixed coil small electromagnetic clutch
The electromagnetic coil is installed on the compressor end cover and does not rotate. The rotor is fixed on the electromagnetic coil by bearings and circlip, and the outer side of the rotor is a tape reel. The armature (clutch plate) is installed at the end of the compressor crankshaft. Fixed coil electromagnetic clutch is mainly composed of pulley, electromagnetic coil, pressure plate and hub assembly. One end of the solenoid coil is grounded, and the other end is connected to the power supply through the air conditioning relay. When the air conditioner switch is turned on, the air conditioner relay is turned on, and the compressor solenoid coil is energized to generate a strong magnetic field, which causes the compressor electromagnetic clutch driven disc and the freely rotating pulley to pull together, thereby driving the compressor shaft to rotate and the refrigeration system to work. When the air conditioner relay is de-energized, the current of the electromagnetic clutch coil is cut off and the magnetic field disappears. At this time, the driven plate and pulley are separated under the action of the spring, so that the compressor stops working.
(2) rotating coil small electromagnetic clutch
The rotating coil small electromagnetic clutch works on the same principle as the fixed coil clutch, but the solenoid position is different. In the rotating coil structure, the electromagnetic coil is a part of the rotor and rotates with the rotor. The current flows into the electromagnetic coil through the brush installed on the compressor to establish a magnetic field. The magnetic field causes the armature to contact the rotor, and the rotation of the entire electromagnetic clutch device composed of the armature, rotor and coil drives the compressor to rotate.
These two small electromagnetic clutches have several flow collecting grooves on the armature and the rotor to facilitate the concentration of the magnetic field and increase the attraction of the two.
